Pretty (Ch. Saiyai N Lamars Dancin Pretty Girl) delivered 3 beautiful girls by C Section today (Aug 4). Proud daddy is Grand Ch. Belles N Ka-Lynns I'm Your Superman (Chuckie). All girls are healthy, 1 fawn/white and 2 fawn spotted on white...weighing in at 5.1, 4.9, 4.8. So big girls.
Mom's first litter and she is not a happy camper about now! She woke up and wants those things away from her...so this is liable to be interesting. I am hoping as she becomes more awake some motherly instincts will start kicking in or this will not be fun! I have given them some cholostrum and pottied them but she has enough milk to feed twice the number of babies she has so she better let them suck soon!
Anyway, glad that is over. I hate the whelping of puppies...I like planning the litters and watching puppies grow up but this chi whelping is certainly no fun. Although I must admit I have been pretty lucky with good moms all along up until now, so I suppose I was due to have a problem one~!
