Lamars Chi's Are Great Family Pets Too

Lisa had this photograph done this weekend by Sunshine Portraits. Chavonne loves her chi's...she is thrilled to be pictured here with Grand Ch. Lamars Murano (Murray) and 7 month old Kale (TJS N Lamars True Grit) who is up to 5 points (3 major reserves!!!) any one who knows me knows how I hate those darn reserves...lol

I am campaigning (anyone want to join) to AKC to start awarding something to Reserve...and to also allow late entries to be paid...to help get numbers up and so we quit wasting entries on shows that don't make a major or even sometimes make a single point.

Murray Goes Group 3 Sunday May 22

RED BANNER DAY...MURRAY'S FIRST GROUP PLACING...Murray won a Group 3 today at the Mt Palomar KC show in Calif with his proud and very excited owner Lisa (my daughter) handling him to the win. Paula Murray showed him to the BOV win and she had a long Special to take in so Lisa stayed for Group and took him in. Needless to say...Lisa won't come off Cloud 9 for a while. Me too. we are all so proud of Murray. If you are ever in Calif or get a chance to look at him...I am sure you will agree...he is one of the soundest and typiest chi's you'll see with some substance...not a frail little lap dog! He can move right out around that group ring.

Then Kale finally got his first two pts today...he has two huge major reserves (with one being at the National Specialty) and then a Reserve yesterday. So finally he got out of the Reserve rut...again Lisa was showing him (she thinks her new fancy pink jacket she bought at the Nationals did it...lol)

Last but not least...Lucky ...the only puppy from the Chuckie/Sugar breeding last year ... Lamars In Your Dreams....won his first point today also...this weekend was his first time out. Way to go all you Lamars kids...we are proud of one and all. Congratulations Tammy and thank you for Kale and letting me lease Lady...more winners coming in that litter.

Saturday May 20 Show News

Well, today was not a big winning day but our dogs were not ignored either. Kale, our tri 7 month old puppy went RWD and Murray went BOS in Calif.

Lucky, our Sugar/Chuckie, puppy owned by Tammy Caswell in Indiana went RWD in his first show. So many congrats to Tammy and Lucky.

A friend of mine bought a little l/c female on my recommendation from another friend and she has gone Group 1 in Puppy Group in Colorado. Her first shows too... I own her litterbrother.

Way to go one and all.

Kale's Photos From Nationals

Just received my win photos from the National Specialty. Kale (TJS N Lamars True Grit-S) is pictured to the left with Judge Stepanie Schultes being awarded Best Opposite Sex Smooth Puppy in Sweeps.. with me showing him at the SCCC Specialty that morning.

Then in the afternoon he won Best Smooth Puppy in Sweeps at the CCA Specialty under Judge Tracy Potts with Paula Murray showing him. The photographer wore him out in the morning and he wanted no part of another 10 minute photo session...hence Paula wound up holding him. I hate holding photos and wouldn't have kept it had it not been a National Specialty win photo.

The last photo (on the right) is Kale winning RESERVE WINNERS DOG from the 6-9 class at 6 1/2 months old at the CCA National Specialty with Judge Patricia Larrissey. What an amazing win for a baby! He showed his little heart out and begged to win and almost did!

We are very excited for Kale's career that is starting with such a bang. The weekend before he went to a couple practice shows and they were his first shows. He won his class his first show and then went RWD to a 4 pt major. So in his 5 day show career he won two outstanding Sweeps wins and two RWD to big majors.

Kale is River's half brother...their mom Rio is very proud of her boys.

Bandit and Shady Lady Available

Bandit and Shady Lady are now six months old and in the middle of their growthy gangly stage. But Bandit doesn't seem to have lost his coat like Shady did. She isn't really as leggy in real life but the close up make her look that way with no hair.

If you are looking for a nice show puppy you might think about one of these. It seems all I am getting is long coats and I need to keep a couple smooths back. Of course, if these guys don't find new show homes I'll take them out in a couple months and get their Championships. They both have wonderful temperaments also.

SCCA and CCA Wins

WOW is all I can say about our trip to the S. Cal. Chi Spec and the CCA Spec.'s in Calif.

What a great time and I met so many people I had wanted to meet...still have a few more but I didn't have time to meet everyone...

We did better than I ever imagined we could. To start with baby Kale who just turned 6 months on April 15 (and I am not positive but if not the youngest pup there one of the youngest) turned on the charm and won BOS Smooth Coat Puppy in Sweeps under wonderful judge Stephanie Schultes at the SCCA Spec in the morning with me showing him.

Then in the PM at the CCA Spec he won Best Smooth Coat puppy in Sweeps! How about that for a first day....Paula Murray showed him under judge Tracy Potts. Thanks to both of them.

For some reason on Friday Frank Sabella overlooked him. But he did give Murray 2nd Award of Merit!!!!!!!!!

Then Sunday Judge Pat Larrissey gave Kale RWD !!!!!!! What a great win at the Nationals for a baby.

Frosting on the cake was when all 3 of Frankie's get that showed in BOV made the final cut on Sunday! Wow. Frankie has very few puppies to his name but what he does have are hard to beat. We have a new litter out of Frankie right now and River's full sister. I am soooo excited for these babies to grow up. Unfortunately they won't be old enough for the fall Nationals...Darn.

So all in all...was a fantastic weekend. One I am sure I won't get the privilege of repeating any time soon. lol

River Completes His Thai Ch.

River is now Grand and Thailand Champion Lamars Riverdance-S. I just received the email when I returned home this weekend from the Specialties. It was a great weekend in Calif and then to get home and see that River is a Thai Ch. was more frosting on the cake. Way to go River and Congratulations to Prayoon.
