3 Lamars Dogs in Top 25

I am so proud to say that I just checked the Breed Rankings posted thru April 8 shows and there are 3 Lamars Dogs in the Top 25.

Grd. Ch. Lamars Murano-s is number 13
Grd Ch. Lamars Dream Big-s number 14
Grd. Ch. Lamars Riverdance-s number 23 (River has been sold to Thailand and not shown since mid February)

Then Grd Ch. Ka-Lynn's N Belles I'm Your Superman is number 8. He is sired by Ch. Lamars Clark Kent and we sold both his sire and dam to Chuckie's breeder for the intent purpose on a breeding to produce outstanding dogs.

I feel this is such an accomplishment because I am such a small breeder. Last year I had 4 puppies (but actually only 1 myself here)...the other 3 came from litters I was co breeder on and did not live here. Imagine breeders out there producing a big volume compared to my little contribution and then you can realize what an outstanding feat this is for us.

Kale attended his first show in Calif. today. He just turned 6 months old last weekend. He won his class today and we were glad about that. One never knows how babies minds will handle the dog show scene. He was a little scared as we handed him off to Paula Murray and he didn't know her. But when he went in for WD he was fine. Kale is River's half brother....on the dam side. His sire's full brother was an Am Can. Ch ... so we hope Kale will do well ... he has big footsteps to follow.

New Shipping Regulations With Airlines

I just shipped my puppy to California yesterday for his two prep shows this weekend and then on to the National Specialty out there.

I have shipped quite a lot and know the shipping regulations. Well, I used Delta ( I usually use American) and the cargo agent said he'd have to drill 4 holes for the zip ties on the door. So I said ok and kept visiting with the other guy.

Well, just before I left they set my new Vari Kennel 100 series on the counter and there were 4 HUGE holes the size of a quarter at least. This just for Zip ties to hold the door shut! Heck a chi could get it's feet thru or his mouth stuck in it if he were a tiny chi.

It took me by such surprise I didn't say anything but as I drove home I just started fuming. How dare they destroy personal property like that. 4 small holes would have been sufficient if they needed holes at all.

American runs two zip ties together and runs that thru the window...they don't drill holes.

So lesson...before I go to the airport my husband will drill my holes for me!!!!!!!!!!

New Ch. Lamars Journey To BelCanto

Just got news a that Gypsy is now Ch. Lamars Journey To BelCanto. I co own Gypsy with owner Pat Anders in Virginia. Pat said she had to ask her good friend Michelle Soave to take her in today because Pat had a ring conflict. Gypsy finished with 4 majors (2 with Pat and 2 with Michelle). Congratulations Pat and me...lol and thanks to breeder Mallory Francisco....of Journey chihuahuas. We have a nice litter of 2 l/c girls out of Gypsy's full sister that is about 9 weeks old now...they are looking very nice so far. Gypsy is on to her Grand Championship now. Later this year Pat will be breeding Gypsy and her littermate Ella I believe. You might watch for those exciting litter announcements.

GRAND CHAMPION LAMARS MURANO-S

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEWEST GRAND CHAMPION...LAMARS MURANO-S (MURRAY). Thank you so much to Paula Murray for taking Murray on his whirlwind trip to his Grand Championship ... I think it was in just a month's time. I didn't check the time frame. But he did it easily and quickly going Best Of Variety over some top winning Specials...and all big majors. I have to wait until the results are printed so I can count exactly what he did but I believe he finished with 5-5 pt majors and 1 4 pt major. He finally decided showing isn't so terrible after all. He is one of those beautiful dogs that took a while to mature mentally and wanted to just be his 'mom's little house buddy! My daughter Lisa is his 'mom' and she is soooo excited. Her first Ch and she barely got used to that when she now has her first Grand Ch. WATCH FOR "TEAM MURRAY" AT THE NATIONALS IN ONTARIO.

Murray Wins BOV At Vegas

Sunday at Vegas Murray won Best of Variety for a 5 pt Major. He has fulfilled his majors requirements (with 4 majors) and his defeating champions at 3 shows (he has done so at 4). So he lacks just 6 singles to get his Grand Championship. This was accomplished in very few shows...we are hoping this coming weekend he will garner those remaining points and we'll have our 4 th Grand Ch from Lamars.

Thank you to Paula Murray for her excellent presentation of Murray. GO TEAM MURRAY. Watch for them at the Nationals also.

Good Day Today

Today was a pretty decent day, 70's outside and I even got to put the puppies out for some much needed sunshine. Murray is showing in Las Vegas this weekend with Paula Murray and he won Select for a 4 pt major defeating 3 other Champions. He is now at 14 pts with 3 majors and 3 shows with Champions defeated. So the hard part is done...the Grand Ch is gonna happen quick. Then I picked up a puppy from my friend Cathleen at the airport. He is gorgeous....name is Griffin. His is is a male she got from me...Am Can. Ch. Spencer. I was pretty excited She gave me the opportunity to own this beautiful boy. Will post photo when I get one taken.
