Spencer Finishes Canadian Championship

Spencer is pictured here winning the Major Reserve at the Chihuahua Club of Michigan Specialty a couple weeks ago. Quite a feat. I haven't counted how many dogs he beat but will have to do that.
I just received word that he finished his Canadian title this past weekend beating some very tough dogs. Spencer just turned 8 months old! He is showing this weekend in the States...let's hope he continues on with his winning ways. Spencer is out of Ch. Fandango Blaze of Glory and my girl Hurd's Let's Talk Turkey.

SUGAR/CHUCKIE PUPPIES AT 4 WEEKS

Sugar's babies always generate interest...she seems to be everyone's favorite! Here are her little ones at about 4 1/2 weeks. The two smooths are boys and the long darker spotted one is the girl. The girl is biggest, followed by the fawn spotted boy that has self colored nose, and then the little boy with black nose on the right.
All have cute personalities...happy kids and play always having tails over their backs. The little boy is a bit mouthy. He barks or howls at us everytime he hears a noise that is different. We had him really going with a squeaker when taking these photos. He barked and howled the whole time. Should have taken a video for You Tube! I am holding on to these kids until I see which one or ones that I want to keep.

Murray Gets Another Point Fathers Day

Murray (Lamars Murano-S) is now up to 10 points with one major. He is not fond of all the dogs at the shows so he doesn't put his best self out there most of the time. We have found he prefers the outdoor shows over the noisy indoor shows.

Almost every judge he goes under comments on how nice he is and if we could just get a 'little more attitude' out of him he'd be a Specials dog. We, of course, know this ... too bad you couldn't take a video of him (and dogs like him) at home and you'd never know it was the same dog...lol

He'll get there but it certainly is frustrating for him to be beating himself just because he carries his tail out (not tucked) but out rather than over the back. The standard permits being carried out but the judges don't seem to recognize that. They want over the back and over the top temperaments.

But Murray is so sound conformationally, has a beautiful head and movement...and at home a superb playful, energetic, tail never down temperament! Too bad we can't convince him shows are FUN.

Chuckie Ranked Number 6

Chuckie (Ch. Ka-Lynn's N Belle's I'm Your Superman) is ranked number 6 Smooth Coat as of the last update. He is only 1 pt behind #5!!! and this with very limited showing. What an accomplishment after zooming to his Championship with 4 majors and finishing with a bang at the Illinois Chi Specialty this Spring. He is only 14 months old too! He is also at 17 points for his Grand Championship with all 3 of his majors. He'll probably be one of the first Chihuahuas to get this title.

Chuckie is the sire of Sugar's (Ch. Fandango Lamar Sweet Dreams). There are 2 m and 1 f but I will hang on to the babies for a while to see who is staying here.

Chuckie's owner has a litter of 4 girls tho. So if you are looking for a show girl let me know.

Congratulations on your ranking Karen...

Frankie Daughter (Penny)

Penny is pictured at 8 months of age placing in the puppy group. She zoomed to her Canadian Ch at 8 months and came cl0se to the American Ch by 9 months. She is needing one single to finish here in the States so we'll watch for her to come over the border the end of June to grab that last point.
She made a good showing for herself at the Michigan and Chihuahua Club of America shows a week ago. She won Best of Breed in the Sweepstakes and placed well in her classes the other days. She has been winning Best of Variety in Canada quite often this Spring. Watch for her. Way to go Cathleen.

Two Russian Champions

I am so happy to announce two new Russian Champions. My friend Nikolay informed me a couple weeks ago that Am Ch. Lamars Antonio is now a Russian Champion. Congratulations Antonio and Nikolay. There are so many titles in Russia I must say I get lost in them all. Nikolay has attempted to explain them to me but I am too dumb to understand it I guess! lol

Then I heard from my good friend Marina who announced that Sandy who was a Jr Russian Champion is now a Russian Champion also. Her name is Lamars Sandy Dream of Masway. Sandy was shipped as a puppy so didn't attain her American Ch. But she is certainly Sugar's prettiest daughter. Unfortunately there aren't many Sugar girls out there showing...but they will make her proud as mothers in their own right.

Thank you Nikolay and Marina. I love the letters and photos they send me.

I received word from friend Cathleen Bird that we had some pretty nice wins at the two Specialties going on in Michigan this weekend. On Thursday at the MCA Sweepstakes Penny (a Frankie daughter) won Best of Breed in the Sweepstakes. She placed 3rd Saturday in her class of 7 at the CCA Specialty.

Spencer (A Blaze of Glory/Gobble boy) placed 2nd in his big class of 10 in the 6-9 puppy class at both the sweeps on Thursday. Then Friday he won Best Long Coat Puppy and RESERVE WINNERS DOG!

River and Lucy's Latest Win Photos

I thought I'd share the latest win photos on River and Lucy. They turned out pretty nice...with summer here I'll slow up a bit. I am not a hot weather lover so I wilt when it is over 80! lol I will try to make one weekend a month at least so the dogs don't forget what their job is!
