Blaze/Gobble Babies At 6 weeks

This is a very nice litter. I don't see a bad one at this age but we all know how that can change. The long coat is the boy, Turbo Tax! The girls are left Shelley, and right Haven.
Shelley I plan to hang on to for myself, at least for a while. All have excellent little temperaments, short cobby bodies, beautiful heads and rich coloring. Look at those short backs and tailsets. I hope they continue growing up to be as nice as they are now. Turbo and Haven are now available for deposits to show homes. They, of course, won't leave until 10-12 weeks of age.

Another Lamars Champion

I am so proud to announce JB finished his Championship this past Friday with new owner Tom Green putting the final point on him. He is pictured here just a baby taking his first point. I want to thank Handler Kathleen Knowles and Omar Gonzalez for putting 8 points on JB in Ohio area. I put on 6 points and Tom finished the single.

JB will now go on to being an asset to Tom in his breeding program and I reserved some breedings to him should I ever have an IG again in the future I wanted to breed. I will still have one now and then...it is such a wonderful breed. I am just stretched too thin right now to have two breeds to show. Again...congratulations to Tom, JB, and JB's sire and dam Gus and Freckles.

Liberty's 4 point major

Finally received Liberty's 4 point major win photo. It was sent to a friend and I had received hers! So we swapped them out and here we are! She is such a pretty girl...Thanks to all the judges who appreciated Liberty and awarded her the points for her title.

Pulled In Group

I just got an email from good friend Rob Meerdink who lives a couple hours from me here in Iowa. He has shown some of our dogs for us when we can't go.

Rob has one of the IG's from my breeding program and he has been having a hard time finding any competition. I don't know how many entry dollars he has blown looking for competition! Anyway, he was in Minnesota yesterday...again no other IG's .. but Sunday (the IG girls name) went on to group and actually got pulled in Groups. She is still pretty immature and just out of puppy class. She is so full of energy Rob has a hard time keeping all four on the ground...lol But she showed well and has proven she is deserving of getting her Championship...IF he can ever find an entry. Like fine wine, she'll only get better as she matures. Good luck, Rob and Sunday.

Rob is taking Remy and Scotch to Fargo for us. Remy is looking for majors and they are going to be iffy at best...the boy's major broke but we are hoping it holds in girls...Scotch can use 6 more points...including a major.

Smile You're On Candid Camera!

Seeker went to his new home today and his new owner asked if she could take my photo holding him and his littermate Livvy. Seeker was just neutered a few days ago and is doing great. We are so happy he found such a wonderful new home just about 30 miles from us. He has his owner, Therese, all to himself in a big house and a big yard. Therese was thrilled to find such a quality chihuahua for her new companion, having just retired from the Air Force she has lots of time and attention to devote to him.

She says she'll see how he adjusts to just having her and if he seems lonely they'll have to think about getting him a friend. I am sure he'll thrive getting one person all to himself. The one thing I am thank ful for is that we seem to find such wonderful homes for our chi's.

NEWS FROM RUSSIA

I received an email from my friend Marina in Russia that Lamas Sandy Dream At Masway won again this weekend. Once again I plead ignorance at the meaning of what she won but Marina said she needs two more such wins to complete her title of Junior Russian Champion. She won CW, J-CAC, BOB, BIJ-2, BIG-2. Congratulations to Sandy and Marina.. Sandy is from the first breeding of Frankie and Sugar...she is a littermate to Gage who is doing so much winning here in the States.

LIBERTY IS A CHAMPION, JP TAKES 1ST POINT

We are happy to announce another Champion. Ch. Schroeder's N Lamars Give Me Liberty finished her title going Best of Winners on Saturday at Gardner KS. We are so happy that we picked up these last few points the past two weekends so she can ship to her new owner in Nova Scotia. Liberty was bred a couple weeks ago to Frankie (Ch. Hurd's Blazin The Way At Lamars). We are all excited to see what this mating produces.

Just as one finishes their title we have a new star on the horizon. Ivy's long coat boy JP (who is a full brother to our beautiful Ch. Dorher's N Lamars Prom Queen-s (Skittles) won his first point on Saturday and went Reserve on Sunday. This boy has a huge coat, beautiful head and body and can he move. We have hopes he'll fly to his finish. He went Reserve today.

Wish Us Luck in Gardner, KS

This weekend we are heading to the Sunflower Circuit in Gardner, KS. Wish us luck! Liberty needs one point for her Championship so I am praying real hard for that one. She is needing to ship to Canada to her new home once she is finished. We bred her last week to Frankie so we don't have alot more time to pick up this last point! Nothing like pushing the envelope and putting pressure on ourselves...lol Ivy is bringing out her long coat puppy JP too.

Clark is needing 5 singles...he too could finish this weekend BUT he'd have to win both days because there isn't enough on either day to finish him. We'll be happy if the little turkey decides he wants to show this weekend. He is killing himself when he hits the ring...tail itsn't over his back like it usually is. So we'll hope this weekend he decides to show like he did in Wichita. His owners are anxiously awaiting his return home when he is finished.

Then Scotch is also entered but I am not as pressured to get her finished since she is mine and I can keep going with her. We do have them all entered in shows in a couple weeks too. Clark and Liberty will be going to Grays Summit, MO with Betsy Owens. Remy and Scotch will be going to Fargo, ND with Rob Meerdink and I'll get to stay home for a couple weeks!

After these weekends we'll have to see who is finished and who needs what to decide where next.

Liberty Wins 4 Point Major and BOV Today

We just returned from Rock Island, IL. The trip was worth the 6 hours on the road and it was a beautiful drive. We got to cross the Mississippi River between Davenport, IA and Rock Island, IL. These beautiful cities are part of what is call the Quad Cities. Very interesting area for sure.

Saturday Lamars Clark Kent won WD for 1 point. He now has 10 points...needing 5 singles to finish so he can go home to his owners.

Sunday Schroeders N Lamars Give Me Liberty won a 4 pt major and Best of Variety ... I definitely had been praying hard for this win because she is due to ship to her new home in Canada the end of May so I only have a couple weeks now to get that last point. Thanks to Judge Doris Cozart...such a pleasant lady to show under, too.

This next weekend we will be going to Gardner and praying that Liberty will get her Championship point and Clark can hopefully pick up another couple points at least.

News From Russia

Marina, my friend in Moscow, emailed saying Sandy (her Frankie/Sugar girl) won over 10 Chi's today and won CW, J CAC, and Best Junior. Now I must admit I have no idea what that is and asked for explanation. So I'll clarify it for all of us who don't know the different steps towards Championships in different countries. Sandy is a litter sister to Gage who was Number 7 Smooth coat last month and made the cut both days at the Spring Revolving Nationals all the while nursing tiny corneal ulcers apparently from the sand blowing in them in Phoenix!. Poor Guy...but he is a trooper.
Sandy and her litter sister Glory seem to be growing up in to the beautiful girls we thought they would. Thank you Marina for the update.

Lamars Daring To Dream

I am happy to say I am getting Darin (DD) back in a couple weeks. She was my pick last litter of Sugar/Frankie but I had decided I needed to keep the long coat girl. DD's owner has decided to get out of dogs and has offered her back to me. I was thrilled to say, most definitely. So now I have a girl to show...yeaaaaa.. Actually the good news of getting her back came the same day as the bad news of Sugar losing her singleton puppy in this latest litter. So that helped ease the loss a bit. Watch for us this summer and fall...once we get her show trained.

No Sugar Babies

Hi everyone. For all you waiting for news on the Sugar litter. ...I am sorry to report there was just a singleton male and she didn't go in to labor soon enough I guess. Because by the time we went for a section he had already died. Couldn't have been gone for long it didn't look like. So anyway, just wanted to update you.

I am pleased to report tho, that I am getting her daughter Lamars Daring To Dream back ... DD is from her last litter. A beautiful smooth girl that was my pick in that litter and I really didn't want to sell. But I had decided to keep the long girl instead ... then the long girl has decided to stay tiny. So it is a blessing I am getting DD back.

BLAZE/GOBBLE TRIO AT 17 DAYS OLD

These three little pigs weren't that keen on being outside for the first time. Had a heck of a time keeping the boys eyes open in the bright sun light.

The boy is on the right. He is a definite long coat. The girls I hope are staying smooth coats. I have never seen puppies with such an appetite as these guys...they are continually rooting around like pigs and literally sound like pigs rooting! I am going to start them on their gruel today I think because they are fat, yet seem real hungry all the time. Big pretty puppies.

Anniversary

Well today, May 3, is my wedding Anniversary. Can you believe it...have been married 44 years...married my high school sweetheart. We dated all 4 years of high school and married right out of high school. So if you count that have been putting up with the same old coot...lol...for 48 years.

We have 3 beautiful daughters and 3 handsome grandsons and 2 pretty little dolls for granddaughters. One day I'll have to post a photo of my beautiful family.

Email Working Again

Well, Email is back up. Man was I lost without it!!!!!

No news on Sugar yet...probably Sunday or Monday would be my guess.

Gobble's babies are very pretty still. Eyes are open so will have to get new baby photos posted.

Spring is finally here...lilacs are in bloom and we planted our flower gardens and hanging baskets today. Next is getting the garden planted. We are behind everyone around here every year...it is hard for me to plant before May 1 since I came from the North Country of Montana...so my stuff is always much later than the locals! But that is ok cause we have huge farmers markets here and about all I grow is tomatoes, cukes, peppers. Everything else I can get at the markets.
