Murray Wins First BOV At Keomah KC

Murray has been such a consistent little showman and always right up there in the ring but seemed to be stuck in the Reserve rut. Finally under Judge Janice Earl he 'kicked' the Reserve habit and won his first Best of Variety. He is on his way now and we are thrilled. He has always been my favorite little guy...such a wonderful easy temperament to live with. Watch for more news on him this Spring, altho we have several people interested in him so he may go to a new home. Even so, wherever he goes he will do the breed proud.

Look What's Coming to Lamars

Thought I'd share these cute baby photos of two puppies from Lamars breeding that will be coming to Gayle's. The parents were bred by Ivy and Gayle and Gayle has liked the breeding so well she has purchased both litters to watch them grow. The first litter of two ... also a boy and a girl...was gorgeous. The girl... a beautiful long coat bitch owned by Diana Garcia in Florida finished her Championship last fall. The boy... WOW ... an outstanding smooth male we just saw this past weekend. He is gonna kick butt...we are going to get him and start him in March and he will blaze to a finish. All who saw him said...tell me where he is going to show cause we will stay home. So we are so excited to have the opportunity to get these two kids in a few weeks.

Des Moines Show News

Pictured is Liberty winning at St Jo Missouri on Feb 1. Liberty is such a pretty girl we know she will finish fast. Thanks Paula Hartinger for the win. That day Remy also won the smooth male points.

Gayle and Ivy traveled to Des Moines, IA on Sunday and didn't fare too badly. Ivy's long coat girl Chilly won her first point and Murray finally broke his 'reserve' mold and won Best of Variety getting his first point.

Murray and Gayle are flying to California this weekend to visit Gayle's daughter Lisa and her beautiful granddaughter Chavonne...Chavonne is so excited she is beside herself. She loves grandma's "waa-was" as she calls the chis.. Murray has been sold to a wonderful family in Northern California who will pick him up after Mid March where he will show again in San Diego with Gayle's daughter, Lisa, before going to his new home in Northern Calif.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE. Outside here in Iowa and Nebraska it looks like a white Christmas instead of Valentines Day! We got about 4 inches of snow here and other spots got up to 7. But Spring isn't far off so we won't fret over the white stuff. It will give the farmers good moisture in the ground for their spring planting. As I am writing this one of my wonderful neighbors is out there on his tractor plowing our driveway out. I must say that I have lived in many places in my lifetime and the neighbors we have here in Iowa have been far the best.
Pictured here are 3 beautiful Italian Greyhounds from Lamars. They live with Erika in Miles City, MT and I thank her for this beautiful photo. Doc is the seal male, in the middle is Cookie, and the mischievious Didi is looking over the top.
I am leaving for a dog show today so wish us safe travel today and good luck at the show tomorrow.

Lamars Latest Upcoming Stars

Sugar and Frankie's 3 babies at 16 weeks that are still here. Their smooth sister left last weekend to her new home with Littlebark Chihuahuas. Seeker, the smooth boy will leave later this month for northern California. Glory, the gold long coat girl may be going to Russia but I am hoping she will stay here to complete her Championship first.
The two spotted kids are Scotch and Antonio's boys who are just now 7 weeks old but thy sure think they are older!!! Attitude deluxe on these two. The Black Spotted boy is Desi and he will probably be going to live with Dorothy..a good friend who lives close by. She has been wanting a good black/white to show and this one fits the bill. Since boys aren't a hot ticket item, the blue spotted boy, Mojo, will probably stay here and show. He's gonna be fun. Altho, it might be best if he did sell since his brother will be showing at a lot of the same shows! So if a good show home comes along, we'll let him go. Otherwise...here he stays until he finishes.

The weather finally got in the 60's and the babies got to go outside for the first time all winter. They were not a bit afraid and raced and played...the wind was really blowing hard so they didn't like that much and it made their eye water. But other wise they seemed to have fun. I'll tell you one thing...they sure slept good!

GAGE FINISHES TODAY IN NEW YORK

CHAMPION LAMARS DREAM BIG certainly lived up to his name. He has blazed a way through California losing at only one show if my memory is correct. He then traveled to the shows before Westminister in New York finishing his Championship today at the New York Metro Chihuahua Club under Judge June Penta.
Pictured is all the 'plunder' (lol) that he won in Calif and I am certain he'll have more to add from this weekend. What makes these wins so outstanding is he has been competing in Specialties as well as regular shows and is winning no matter where he goes. He will be moved up as a Special tomorrow so we'll see what happens.
Congratulations to his owners Lanny and Shawn Jones...we know they are as excited as I am here...his sire's first Champion (won't be the last we're sure) and his dam's second Champion so far. Watch for more news from Gage as we are sure you'll see more of him. Thank you Shawn for sending him out and thank you Jill Hopper for her capable handling.

RECENT SHOW NEWS

Sorry I have been kind of lax on updates here. Tax time has rolled around and seems every year my resolve to have them done early never happens! I am trying this year tho! lol

Mimi in Alaska called and told me her little long coat puppy went Reserve to a major in her first show Jan. 24. Her name is Lamars Good Fortune-L. Chrissy is in the 6-9 month old ganglies and losing coat but watch out when it comes in and she gets out of this puppy stage. Good luck Mimi.

Gayle and Ivy went to St. Joseph, MO this weekend. Man, this was the absolute worst weekend all of us (our group of about 7 friends who show together) have had. Usually one or many of us win the points between us. Two judges who have a definite NO on our cards from now on that is for sure!! Sunday tho, thanks to experienced all breed judge Paula Hartinger, a few of us did win something so we at least didn't come away empty handed.

Ivy's male puppy Remy won 2 points and Best Opposite Sex. Gayle's Liberty won Winners Bitch for 1 point. Remy is now up to 6 points and Liberty is just getting started..with 3 points to date. Murray got a major Reserve on Friday and JB got two reserves. That was the really bad part of the weekend...JB only needed a single point and we couldn't even get that!

We haven't decided where to go for our next shows. Gonna lick our wounds from Friday and Saturday and regroup! ha ha. Usually one or two of us in our group will come away with something but even our friends Specials got beat...so you can see we were all pretty discouraged! Can't win 'em all I guess, but it would sure be nice!
