GAGE GRABS 5 POINT MAJOR YESTERDAY

He's near the finish line! Gage continues his sweep of California shows going WD and Best of Winners for a big 5 point major at the Southern California Chihuahua Specialty Friday, Jan 23. He also went Best puppy and Best puppy in Sweepstakes! He has 14 points so we are hoping today he gets his Championship...then I'll bet he is on to the Specials ring.
At the afternoon show he went Best Puppy at the So. Cal. Chi Specialty. This boy is making a name for himself fast. Watch out world...you'll be seeing more of LAMARS DREAM BIG! Congratulations to owner Shawn Jones.
We are all thrilled with Gage's wins, most especially me. I knew he had big things before him from day one. Unfortunately, I can't keep every nice 'kid' that comes along and most especially boys. If he had been a girl he wouldn't have left! Way to go Gage. Your mom and dad and siblings are proud.

GAGE IS TAKING CALIFORNIA BY STORM

I just heard from Shawn today that Gage is setting the show ring on fire in California. He hasn't had any shows for about 3 weeks but this past weekend he had a 3 day show. He won the points all 3 days! Friday (16th) he won WD for 1 point at the Simi Valley KC under Judge Margaret Reed. Saturday (17th) he won WD BW and BOV over TWO Specials for 2 pts under Judge Terri Lyddon. Sunday (18th) he won WD and BoV over ONE Special for 1 point under Judge Janice Pardue.

This puts him at 9 points so far. He has shows this coming weekend...looks like he is zooming in to a fast finish just like we all expected him to. Unfortunately he and possibly one other out of his litter will be the only ones to finish because two of the girls went to Russia. So we are proud he is carrying the ball for them all!

His sire seems to be producing very nice babies consistently. I have Murray here who has been sitting out the winter. We are hoping this spring he will get his Championship just as quickly.

Good Bye Am Ch UGr Ch UCDCh Lamars Runaway, CDX, ROM

It is with a very heavy heart we say goodby to an outstanding Doberman Ch. Lamars Runaway. He is from the last litter of Dobes that I raised and was 9 years and 7 months old when he finally gave in to Hermangio Sarcoma. Red's drive thru life helped him accomplish all his titles and it helped him fight to live 7 months after his diagnosis. The doctors thought initially he might only live a few days so he proved to the end how big a heart he really had.

I have to thank his wonderful owners who loved him immeasurably. Fred and Julie came all the way to Montana from Ohio to pheasant hunt 9 years ago. They had also been searching for a Doberman. As fate would have it, Fred's brother knew a good friend of mine and she referred them on to me (I was another 250 miles west of where they were in Montana!) And the rest is history as the saying goes! They fell in love with this boy the minute they laid eyes on him and bought him on the spot.

Julie had every health test done that is required for dobes and more. She would not offer him at stud and actually had semen stored on him because she thought someday she might find a bitch she felt worthy of him and that she might want a pup out of. She did actually find such a bitch a couple years ago and thankfully does have a beautiful daughter of Red's to help ease the pain of his passing.

Julie accomplished so much more with Red than I ever imagined. She will always remain a special person in my heart for devoting so much time to training and getting him titles on both ends.

My daughter Lisa lost Haley, Red's littermate last Spring to osteosarcoma. Haley was such a wonderful companion to Lisa and her family. Haley was 5 years old when Chavonne was born and I wondered how she would handle having a new baby and then a toddler around. She loved Chavonne and let her crawl all over her, pulling her ears etc. That just proves the temperament we had in our Dobermans...To this day my 3 yr old Granddaughter still asks for Haley and wakes up crying for her. One day soon we will get her another Dobe from bloodlines we trust to have the same temperament.

Rest easy dear Haley and Red. We hope you are romping together in the warm sunshine.

WE LOVE TO GET LETTERS FROM HAPPY OWNERS

I was so happy to hear from Amy in Los Angeles and to receive the photo of her beautiful IG Jovie. He is a little over two years old and as she says, the love of her life. Amy is so happy with him she contacted me about getting him a playmate.

The timing was impeccable because I had a beautiful seal/white boy I needed to re home that was living in Las Vegas only 4 hours from Amy. I sent her the photos and she was ecstatic to find one so close and so beautiful. She is going to drive to Vegas to get Remus in a couple weeks and all will be happy. I firmly believe God does have a hand in helping find my doggie kids the right homes. It is kind of a long story on Remus. I had found him a home in Montana but things just kept blocking the way. So I found Erika in Montana Remus' brother Doc who also needed to find a new home. It worked out great. Now I see why...Remus was meant to go to Amy. Things always work out as they are supposed to.

BEST FRIENDS

Please Note: Photo taken by Lynn Landers-Dickinson copyright 2009

We just wanted to share this beautiful photo of Orion and Billie Jean. Ivy raised Orion (black/white neutered male) and Gayle raised Billie Jean (fawn/white spayed female). Lynn first contacted us about a long coat female. So Billie Jean just fit the bill. After having such a wonderful little ball of fur they figured she needed a friend. Ivy just happened to have Orion. He was beautiful but got too big to show. It was a home made in heaven for both. Lynn and her husband show cats so stay pretty busy in addition to holding down jobs like we all do.
She is always giving us great photos and we appreciate them so much. Seeing how beautiful these two that we sold as pets are...now you can see why our show puppies do so well. Thanks for sharing, Lynn.

Journey N Lamars Drambuie to new home

It is with a happy yet sad heart that I write about little Buie going to his new home. I really had not intended on selling him. He was such a joyful puppy and I knew he was going to be a show stopper. Then, I had a sincere inquiry from a lady in Canada and she sounded like Buie was what she needed.

After much thought and discussion I agreed to sell him to her. He made his way there last Saturday and Erin was overjoyed. Buie was everything she had been looking for all in 3.4 pounds! He came off the plane wagging his tail and hasn't stopped.

Erin said he stacks beautifully on the table, but when he sees himself in the full length mirror he self stackes perfectly. She has already started clicker training him and is so excited about his potential.

I love getting these rave reviews on our puppies. We do our best to raise well socialized and happy puppies with a little bit of table training and sometimes even lead work. So watch for this beautiful boy in Ontario this Spring and Summer. Erin calls him Toby so watch for Toby updates!

WHO SAYS WE AREN'T TOUGH

Pictured here are some of our tough little IG's and Chi's that live in Montana. Just goes to show, all of us like a little romp in the fresh air and sunshine. Course they don't last long but that is fine....we just feel it makes for a healthier person and dog to get some exercise no matter how much snow or cold. Thanks Erika for the fun photos.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

Today is my (Gayle) birthday. Normally at my age I just let them come and go virtually un-noticed. But this year I have so many special friends across the globe emailing me with Happy Birthday wishes I am just thrilled.
Pictured is two of my Sugar/Frankie puppies now living with Marina in Russia. Marina loves them so much she is taking a long coat girl out of the new repeat breeding.
I am looking forward to continuing the old friendships and hopefully cultivating many new ones this new year.
Many thanks to all of you for remembering me. It means more to me than you know. My family has also made this a special birthday for me this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

We at Lamars want to wish all our wonderful friends a very prosperous and Happy New Year.

I just received great news...Eve finished her Thailand Championship before the end of the year...so she is now American Thailand Champion Lamars New Years Eve-S. I have a puppy coming back from her in the Spring so I am looking forward to that. I still have her son Murray here that is available to a show home. He looks so much like his dam (course has a bit of his sire thrown in...lol)

We are taking January off from showing. Weather has been atrocious across the US and we needed a break any way. Costs are rising so much in the showing of our beautiful dogs that we may have to cut back a bit on that too. We hope that we can continue to show and produce beautiful Chihuahua's for ourselves and the rest of you who appreciate what we are producing.
