WORLD NEWS, THAILAND IN TURMOIL
I just heard from friend Joom, in Thailand. She owns a large newspaper in Thailand and has purchased dogs from us here at Lamars, as well as all over the world. It seems the Thai government is in the middle of a coup and the country is in martial law. They can't go out at night and can't congregate in groups of 5 or more, etc. Thousands and thousands of tourists are stranded at the airport because the Government shut it down. Tourists are scrambling to travel to Cambodia, Malasia and other places to try to get home. Our prayers are with that country. Let us also pray this unrest does not spread throughout the world. It seems like times are bad worldwide.

DREAMY TO OHIO, CHICLET TO ALASKA
Chiclet flew NORTH TO ALASKA, on Saturday to good friend Mimi. Mimi has bought a few dogs from Lamars in the past few years and has wanted Chiclet since she saw her photo posted on our web site. Chiclet and Juno have been two of the best puppies I have ever owned. Never fuss, always very clean, take everything in stride, happy and playing but yet if you want them in a kennel they accept that too. Mimi is looking forward to getting her in the show ring after the first of the year as I am with Juno.
Dreamy left last week for Ohio. Zachary Foord was looking for a show girl and liked the Frankie/Sweet Dreams pedigree. He is very pleased with Dreamy and said she came off the plane happy and when he got her home she was playing and looking at herself in the mirror for several minutes! He is anxious to get her show ready for next year also. Good luck to Mimi and Zack. Photos of the girls are on the web site or in earlier blogs.

LATEST PHOTOS OF IVY'S NEW MALE PUP JP
JP is still looking good. How dumb is it that Gayle and Ivy both have long coat boys that will be competing against one another in the same class! lolNeither one of us had known we were going to get these boys, JP and Booie. Gayle was owed a puppy back and was supposed to get a female. But fate has a way of changing things. There was only one girl in the litter and it was coal black. Gayle fell in love with Booie so took him.
Then JP's breeder came to visit Ivy and Gayle and brought her litter for us to evaluate. Ivy was supposed to have gotten a girl last litter from the first breeding. There were 3 girls in that litter but Ivy didn't get one. Then this repeat breeding was just the opposite...had 3 boys! Ivy loves longs...so when the breeder offered JP to Ivy she had to think real hard if she wanted a boy or not. But he was so nice and was personality plus...so she said, What the heck, I'll take him! So as I say, fate had a hand in both these boys coming to Lamars.
Now we wait for them to grow up!

SCOTCH AND LIBERTY SWAPPING PLACES
For those of you who watch our site..just wanted to clarify the latest change. Lamars Scotch On the Rocks was sold this past Spring to Dena Wortman in New Brunswick. Gayle was to show Scotch and hopefully get the Championship on Scotch before sending her to NB. As the summer proceeded on Skittles came on the scene and so Scotch was put away, then Gayle started trying to play the 'choosing the right judge game'. Well as anyone who shows knows...there is no way to second guess what judges are going to do.
Long story short, Scotch has 9 points with one major and shows have pretty much ended for the year. Meanwhile, all along friends have chastised Gayle for selling Scotch because for some reason Scotch has chosen Gayle to be 'her person'. After much deliberation, Gayle talked to Dena and they mutually agreed to leave Scotch at Gayle's and Liberty will go to Dena after she finishes her title.
We are both happy with the decision, me because I felt Liberty would fit Dena's program better and because I have more stud options to breed Scotch to here. Liberty is going to be much easier to find suitable mates for with her fawn coloring. Judges don't seem to care for Scotch's color...but I just don't see how they can hold that against her...with her soundness and outstanding movement and showmanship.
Scotch is bred to Ch. Antonio for a mid December litter. Unfortunately the ultrasound showed one or two puppies. But Scotch will be back on the show circuit this Spring looking for her remaining 6 points.

FRANKIE AND SUGAR'S LITTER AT 4 1/2 WEEKS
Well, the Frankie/Sugar litter is growing up fast and are turning out to be just as nice as the last litter. It always amazes me, though, about how each litter is so different even tho it is an exact repeat of the last.
Lo and behold, this litter I got two long coats and last litter none! They are walking now and starting to eat. Most of my bitches are such good mothers and good milkers that the babies take longer to get on solid food...they aren't hungry so not interested! In fact, last litter Sugar was still with her babies at 12 weeks but I finally just took her away. She'd have stayed longer.
Watch the web site for individual photo updates.

Murray And Chavonne at Council Bluffs Show

my beautiful youngest granddaughter,
Chavonne, posing with Murray at the CB show.
Chavonne absolutely adores the waa-wa's as she calls them. She lives in California and starts begging the minute they land in California to go back to Grandmas house to see the Chihuahua's and IG's. She was sobbing uncontrollably the night before they had to leave knowing she was not going to be able to be playing with the dogs for a long time.
Her mom and dad are contemplating moving here to Nebraska or Iowa possibly in the next year. That would make us all happy and I'd have a Jr. Handler in the wings to help show the dogs. The whole week she was here those dogs got more love and attention than they get in a month...lol.

SHOW RESULTS FROM COUNCIL BLUFFS KC 11/15-16/08
We attended the Council Bluffs KC show (11/15-16/08) and had better results than we did last weekend in Springfield, MO. (Altho we aren't complaining about finishing Antonio there!)
In smooths, Ivy's male puppy Remy won Winners Dog and Best of Winners for 2 points (only his 3rd show) and Murray won Reserve Winners Dog both days. Liberty was only entered on Saturday won 2 points going Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex. Scotch went Reserve on Sunday...darn. Scotch is only 6 points from her Ch. She is bred to Frankie for a 'close to Christmas' litter. Watch for that.
In Longs we didn't fare quite as well. Smiley went Reserve both days. None of the dogs were quite sure they liked this noisy building with a huge noisy heat vent going over head. But all in all they did very well considering all were puppies!

Gayles New Boy

Not to be outdone (lol) Gayle's new long coat boy. Gayle had sold his dam on a puppy back agreement. Hopes were to get a girl but that isn't what fate had in mind apparently. He came out of a litter with almost solid black puppies...and only one girl. I hadn't wanted to get an all black girl so I thought, well, I'll watch him as he grows. So far, I love him and I guess his temperament is also outstanding. Not too smart of us to both get a long coat boy of the same age...but that is just how it worked out. We are both very excited over our new acquisitions. I'll pick this boy up this weekend in Springfield, MO at the show. Watch for our show news next Spring...it's going to be fun (I hope)..
His sire is Ch. Rebounds Black Russian (Cole) and his dam is Ka-Lynn's N Lamars Pixie Dust.
IVY'S NEW ADDITION

Pictured here is Ivy's new long coat boy. His name is JP and he is about 10 weeks old. His sire is Ch. Hurd's Prom Knight and his dam is Ch. Lamars Jada Jing of Dorhers. Ivy is the breeder of Jada and had wanted a puppy back out of her some day. So, Monday Dorothy showed up with the puppies in tow for us to help evaluate and offered Ivy this long coat boy. Ivy wasn't planning on getting another boy but she can't resist a long coat and especially one as nice as this boy. His temperament (as well as his siblings) is out of this world. So we can't wait for Spring shows.
Best of all he is a full brother to Gayle's Skittles! Ch. Dorhers N Lamars Prom Queen who finished with 4 majors from the puppy class!

HAPPY ENDING
We are happy to report that the lost chihuahua girl in New Jersey is back at home with her owners. Due to their quick response on getting information out and following their gut instincts (they apparently had a bit of an idea of who might have been after the dog) they do have her back. Her hair had been cut and she is a bit skittish but she will be fine now that she is home.
LOST CHIHUAHUA IN NEW JERSEY

We were contacted yesterday by Donna Gomez, who is very distraught because this beautiful Long Coat Chihuahua Female she got from Lamars was apparently stolen.
Donna said when they got home the door was open and this girl was the only thing missing. All the other dogs were still there and nothing else was a miss. She said there was a couple things that had happened earlier in the week that now makes her feel that someone was stalking 'this dog'!
This girl has been missing since November 2 in the evening. She is very friendly. The family is of course, heartbroken. BIG CASH REWARD. If you live in New Jersy or on the East Coast and see this girl please call 646 772 6177 cell phone or contact us at Lamar.
